Join a Committee
The Urban Financial Services Coalition New York has various opportunities for members to volunteer. As a volunteer you can take full advantage of your membership by gaining skills or contributing your skills toward our programs and activities. We invite you to review our committees and let us know which one you are interested in by emailing us at president@ufscny.org.
Internal Committees
- Designs and implements career-building programs and seminars that support the needs of the membership
- Coordinates job transitioning and career fair events
- Sponsors members to external seminars.
- Oversees the major fund raiser, for scholarships and educational programs, which is held in April of each year
- Spotlights individuals and corporations that have improved the financial well-being of their communities

- Organizes special outings such as theater parties, sporting and cultural events for members and guests
- Develops and implements fund raising events to finance projects and programs

- Annual Charity Golf Tournament
- Develops and recommends to the board ways and means to acquire and maintain financial security for the organization
- Submits semi-annual recommendations to the board regarding fiscal responsibilities
- Reviews and approves all new membership applications
- Maintains membership records and organization demographics
- Implements programs to acquire and maintain the human resources needed to successfully complete the organization's activities
- Develops and recommends to the board of directors changes in the By-Laws
- Reviews proposed By-Laws changes submitted to the Committee by members in good standing
- Active for three months prior to the May elections
- Identifies qualified candidates interested in running for election
- Manages the election process.
